Well the more things change the more they stay the same I suppose that’s the saying. I am pretty pissed right now about a few things. 1st and foremost is the physical standards between the males and females in the Army. Before anyone starts crying about me being a sexist pig let me break it down shotgun style for you...
Males age 22-26 (I think)
Push Up Minimum: 40 in 2 min
Sit Up Minimum: 50 in 2 min
2 Mile Run: 16min 36 sec.
Not to bad really that’s BARE minimum.
Females Same Age Group:
Push Up Minimum: 17 in 2 minSit Up Minimum: 49 in 2 min2 Mile Run: 19min 36 sec.
Now I ask you people of America why a Female my age has to do less. Are we not EQUAL in the eyes of the free world? The answer is no. I as a male will always have to push harder run faster, and struggle to make my goals. I think it is total BS that i have to do more to get the same treatment. Where is the NAACP for me? (Not that i would ever use it)
So back to my original story...
Friday morning we have 4 mile run in formation running and singing cadence. Well the run was my current commanders last and it was a "motivational" run of sorts. We get 2 miles into the run and people can't make it.. They are dropping from the ranks left and right and I can WALK the pace we are currently running. So we turn around pick them um and keep going. As we make it back to the finish the people that cant run are standing around laughing having a great time while we sweat and pant. And a SFC who is a FEMALE is dancing acting like a DAMN FOOL yet she is too hurt to run with the company.
The Army is heading south for the winter and it isn’t getting warmer anytime soon. No repercussions for laziness yet we have people dying overseas because they are FAT and LAZY from dehydration. Where is the senior NCOs’ and Generals to stop this CRAP?!
Until the next time I complain...
