I will tell you what the Army has made good use of that extra money they are giving me... We have aerial gunnery this week in which the Kiowa's fly shoot some rockets and .50 Cal and land but they have to do it at night so its 24 hour operations here!
Things rock looking at houses in 'Bama i know i know Americas Most Beautiful state... but seriously the houses are really nice and im ready so are the wife and kids.
The only thing that really stinks about the whole move is the fact that i Trade in my Jump Boots in Dress Uniform and my EARNED NOT ISSUED MAROON BERET for a lackluster and frankly ugly ass black beret. If you don't know the story about that here's a quick note:
In 2000 GEN Eric Shinsheki was at some ceremony with the 75th Ranger Regiment. He saw all the Black and Gold Tabs and and their Black Berets and said Hey they look good lets give everyone in the Army a Beret... Well the took away the Black Berets from the Rangers and gave it to everyone in the Army and gave the Rangers Tan ones.... Ok Back to the real story...
I am going to miss my 82nd Airborne Com padres and friends but for those of you who know the Military is one big family and we will see each other again some day.
